We know that there many cancers that have taken the lives of our loved ones as well as those whom we do not know.

The definition of what cervical cancer is will raise your awareness. Cervical cancer is a cancer that starts in the cervix area of a woman’s body. It is the lower part of the uterus the (womb) and it opens at the top of the vagina.

In order to know about cervical cancer awareness there are some very important categories to know about. The causes and risk factors are very strong ones that will be of most concerns for those who encounter the disease.

The cause of cervical cancer and the risk that are involved are serious. It starts in the cells on the surface of the cervix.. Then there are two kinds of cells on the cervix. They can increase a woman’s sexual habits and her patterns.

Here are the risk factors that cervical cancer has:

  • Not getting the HPV vaccine
  • Poor Economic status
  • Weakened immune system
  • Women whose mothers took the drug DES (diethylstilbestrol) during pregnancy in the early 1960s to prevent miscarriage.

My message to women is to raise your cervical cancer awareness. Find out as much information from your doctor and ask lots of questions. Make him/her aware of your symptoms and ask if there are treatments for it and what kind. Early detection of cervical cancer can give you more positive results than negative.
